Hola, Soy Andrés Felipe Sotomayor, director de fotografía colombiano. Me gusta ayudar a construir imágenes que se mueven entre lo íntimo, orgánico y lo estilizado.
Tras completar mis estudios en cinematografía en Madrid, he tenido la oportunidad de trabajar en largometrajes, series de televisión, cortometrajes, documentales y videoclips, desarrollando una estética marcada por una aproximación emocional y, en muchos casos, “romántica” de la imagen.
En 2023 fui seleccionado por el Vision Mentorship Program de la American Society of Cinematographers (ASC), una experiencia que amplió mi visión profesional y fortaleció mi compromiso con una cinematografía más consciente y diversa.
Recientemente fui director de fotografía de la serie Darío Gómez, una producción para Amazon Prime Video, por la cual recibí una nominación a los Premios India Catalina en la categoría de Mejor Dirección de Fotografía. Este proyecto representó un hito importante en mi carrera, al consolidar mi trabajo dentro del panorama de la televisión contemporánea en Latinoamérica.
Mi trabajo más reciente en cine, el largometraje "Agua Salá", se estrenó en el circuito de festivales internacionales como el Miami Film Festival, Mostra Internacional de Cine de São Paulo y Festival Internacional de Cine de Cali, donde fue reconocido por su fuerza visual y su atmósfera poética. En esta película construí imágenes cargadas de emoción y profundidad, buscando que la narrativa visual dialogara de forma honesta con el paisaje y la psicología de los personajes.
Desde la luz cruda del trópico hasta atmósferas densas de niebla y tensión, me gusta revelar mundos con belleza, sensibilidad y verdad. Sigo explorando nuevas formas de narrar con la luz, confiando en el poder de la imagen como vehículo emocional y poético.

Hello, I’m Andrés Felipe Sotomayor, a Colombian cinematographer. I enjoy helping to craft images that move between the intimate, the organic, and the stylized.
After completing my cinematography studies in Madrid, I’ve had the opportunity to work on feature films, television series, short films, documentaries, and music videos—developing a visual style marked by an emotional and often "romantic" approach to the image.
In 2023, I was selected for the Vision Mentorship Program of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC)—an experience that broadened my professional perspective and deepened my commitment to a more conscious and diverse cinematography.

In this film, I crafted images charged with emotion and depth, seeking a visual narrative that resonates honestly with both the landscape and the inner world of the characters.
From the raw light of the tropics to fog-drenched, tension-filled atmospheres, my camera seeks to reveal worlds with beauty, sensitivity, and truth. I continue to explore new ways of storytelling through light, trusting in the power of the image as a poetic and emotional vehicle.
